Singapore Writers Festival 2018 celebrated Yeng Pway Ngon, one of Singapore’s most distinguished Chinese-language writers. The design direction accompanies the exhibition concept, to immerse the audience in the fictional terrains constructed by the author in his works, by creating spaces that invite them into a physical manifestation of four key themes. Sectioned by colours, each theme features a key environment and interactive elements, each recalling literary devices the author employs in his books, allowing for an immersive and intimate experience.
With the theme A State In Play, SingaPlural 2018 is a celebration of the indeterminacy of process and the stage of experimentation and work even before design sets in. The design direction draws inspiration from the process of prototyping and experimentation. Line elements feature across the festival identity’s as a connective and adaptable visual device that is presented in different configurations.
