The National Heritage Board’s SG Heritage Business Scheme is an initiative to celebrate and sustain the local establishments that preserve Singapore’s living heritage and remain committed to the survival of their craft. The brief was to devise an infographic brochure robust enough to showcase all 42 enterprises, organising them by product and service category while introducing local and foreign consumers to the brands that furnish everyday Singaporean life.
The concept extends the heritage business scheme’s existing emblem into a livery of woven coloured lines creating a fabric that represents the many cultures interlaced in Singapore’s local brands and products. From the cover, the vibrant lines unravel into braids that frame each page. Colour coding sorts the collection by district, placing each establishment where it is located. With a set of custom icons marks its trade the reader navigates the 42 businesses by place and by product, a single woven field resolving into its distinct threads.
